George Harvey Strait Featured

Biography
George Strait, often called the “King of Country,” is one of the most successful and influential artists in the history of country music. Known for his traditional sound and cowboy image, he helped revive classic country style during the 1980s when pop-country was taking over.
George began performing while serving in the U.S. Army, later joining the band Ace in the Hole after college. His breakthrough came with the single Unwound in 1981, which marked the start of a legendary career filled with chart-topping hits. Over the years, he became known for songs like Amarillo by Morning, Check Yes or No, Carrying Your Love with Me, and Troubadour.
Unlike many of his peers, Strait avoided flashy public life, focusing instead on his music and live performances. His farewell tour, The Cowboy Rides Away (2013–2014), became one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.
He’s not only a music icon but also a symbol of authenticity in country music. George Strait’s calm charisma, smooth vocals, and consistent dedication to his roots have earned him respect across generations.
